yes the AWD auto will bind and "hop" on dry pavement with the center diff locked. most definetly, mine has done it before...feels exactly like the manual with the DIFF lock button pushed. definitely don't want to drive like that unless you're on a forgiving surface.

YES! i can't wait to get this to work.

http://my.voyager.net/~tmclane/ Heres a link to where I first read about the AWD mod theres other info on the 4EAT thats worth reading too. Also this FAQ says that the duty solenoid c mod gives you a 50/50 split but I have no way of knowing for sure. (Fixed the link)

thunder,

i couldn't get the link to work you posted in the previous message. anyone?
you mentioned "toggle" and "on/off" switch. what kind of switch does yours use? is it a toggle switch (the kind that you press and then it springs back when you let go) or a 2-way switch where it's either in one position or the other (like on or off, like a light switch)?

good job getting it to work!

The link is to a SVX Faq but the info on the Auto tranny is the same as the 4EAT that is in our cars. Yes the switch is just a 2 position on/off switch.

You may have seen this but I thought I would post a link anyway. Has some good info about different gens and about operation of the transfer clutch assembly.

moving has left my FSM in another state. does anyone know which wire in the engine bay (at the large connector) i need to splice into for the Duty Solenoid C? i've done this before on my old daily drivers, but don't have my FSM's with me.

should help you.

i already looked up that and other similar threads there and here. being a newer gen 4EAT it won't be identical. i'd like to know the exact wire (Black with red stripe) or whatever the FSM says it is. unfortunately i don't have my FSM's are at my other house.
