Moving, must sell

Postby Rommalb on Fri Nov 09, 2012 2:06 pm

Well, I'm moving to Alaska and I can't take the XT with me. It's an '86 FWD Turbo model with 190K+ miles but is still running strong. It isn't perfect unfortunately; it has a hesitation problem (seems to run much better when it's cold out), it needs the rear calipers replaced and brake pads all around. The heater blows cold so it probably needs the core to be flushed out, or a new one. Needs a new driver side window motor and spool and drivers seat is naturally kind of tatty.

On the plus side it is almost rust free, only spot I've found so far is on the lip on the sunroof. The car has never overheated on me and even though it has the occasional stumble it pulls very well. I've used the car as a daily driver for the past year when the tranny on my truck when out and it's goes to Ellensburg every week or so with no problems.

It hasn't thrown any codes but I'm sure all it needs to smooth out the engine is the usual sensor suspects and the brakes are very easy to do if someone is so inclined. It will also come with a number of parts, such as: Valve cover seals, timing belts, a new water pump, and oil pump seals. It already has new front brake calipers.

I'm sad to see the car go, but the environment in South East Alaska is harsh on old subies and being only front wheel drive isn't the best for winter.

The car is located in Royal City, Centeral Washington. I'm asking $500 since I need it gone sooner rather than later.

Car is still available! Just flushed the cooling system, car now has a working heater. Replaced the bearing in the idler pulley + new inner serpentine belt. Oil and filter changed.

Sikend, here's an alternate email since I didn't get your last one. Droxinite@yahoo "dot" com

Well, Sikend either hasn't looked at his email or doesn't care to at least tell me 'no' on the car. Unless someone shows immeadiate interest, the car is going to a junk yard. Either way its going to be gone tomorrow.

If you're driving through Calgary on your way to your new home, we should talk.

Damn, sorry to hear about that! Hope the SOB who ran gets what he deserves, not to mention the damn police gouging him like that. Bloody wrong in my opinion.

I've been busy trying to get things in order that I haven't checked the rest of the forums so excuse me while I put my foot in my mouth. Hope Steve heals ok, probably got a nasty compression fracture. At least an XT Is low enough to the ground that it probably missed his pelvis...
